When your young these things do not matter as much /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif When you get older and the wife is nagging because it gives her a headache, her nagging is worse than the drone and loud exhaust /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif But then again you are a teenager so you do not have to worry about that I assume. Yes I do have a radio in the truck but when you go on long trips with a wife and small child in the back and the drone is resonating througout the cab you cannot blast a radio to drowned out the exhaust because the wife and kid will not enjoy that. I will try to get you some pics of the system /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif It does not look bad, I used the MBRB muffler delete pipes between them to make it look good and they are flared on both ends. I changed them out several times just to make sure and I do like it better with the 3.5" dwnpipe. I have in fact noticed the truck has better low end and spool up with the 3.5" dwnpipe vs. I thought I was the only one making up bastard systems! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gifDid you notise any better initial power off idle to 1800 rpm's with the 3 1/2" downpipe instead of the 4"?My truck does not make boost till 2000 rpm & thought about trying a 3 1/2" down pipe to see if it would help it come on earlier.I would like to see some pics of your system. Remember depending on the configuration of the truck, i.e longbed, Supercab, type of turbo, etc some may act differently but I know mine was loud and the drone was awful but now it is nice in the cab.finally I did not ever think my truck could be this quiet with no drone.

It is one of the best things I have done to my truck in a while and the wife is very happy now riding at highway speeds /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I call it the exhaust system /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif Hey it worked for me. In fact, standing at the exhaust tip with the truck running you can hear the engine noise more than the exhaust and that is standing right beside the tailpipe. My drone is about 90% gone and the exhaust can barely be heard at idle and highway speeds. Anyway it creates a seperation between the downpipe which is attached to the engine, and the rest of the exhaust system so that it cannot act like a tuning fork sticking out the back /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif The flex pipe above is actually very flexible and the mesh is SS on the outside (I think). So I have downpipe, flex pipe resonator, MBRP resonator volume reducer, MBRP muffler, tailpipe. My EGTs are the same as they always have been. All of the above are straight through with no restriction. After the resonator volume reducer I have the MBRP muffler that came with the exhaust. Put THIS part #UF10400 as close as I could to the dwnpipe just after the tranny crossmember and then went about 12 inches and put in a MBRP 4 Inch Aluminized Resonator Volume Reducer, 18"OAL x 6"OD x 4" Inlet/Outlet I recently put together something that is working and working great. Truck was loud with terrible drone around 17-1800 rpms Tryed Aeroturbine, straightpiping, various mufflers with all the above configurations with no luck. I went through several exhaust systems in the following order trying to quieten it. I was experiencing loud drone with my truck and it was terrible.
